Confessions of a Social Media Manager

As social media managers, our job is to turn out beautiful content that promotes your brand, grows your audience, and makes you more money (& we *love* doing it). And we know that from the outside looking in, this creatively chaotic job can seem a little idyllic.  So today our team is spilling our top-secret social media manager confessions to help you see that social media management is not a regular job, it’s a cool job. (But hi, it’s also still a job).

Confession 1: I get lost scrolling for research.

Social media is addicting & even though we’re on it all the time, we’re not necessarily immune. Sometimes we spend wayyyyy too much time scrolling. But hey, it doesn’t really matter because it’s “research” right?? Always keeping up with the hottest trends isn’t the easiest job, but it’s a sacrifice we’re willing to make - you’re welcome.

Confession 2: I like my own posts.

Guilty as charged! I like my own posts from all the business accounts I run. A little self-love never hurt anyone, right?

Confession 3: I can’t stay away.

Anytime I try to take a ‘social media detox’ vacation I end up logging in to check all of my client accounts. Some may think I’m a control freak, but I prefer to think of it as being extremely invested.

Confession 4: I’m a Canva convert.

I used to bash on Canva, saying it wasn’t for REAL graphic designers. But now?? I’m a total fan and use it literally all. The. time. For all sorts of projects. I’m basically a canva queen now. If you’re also a canva girlie, you NEED this sticker for your Stanley.

Confession 5: I definitely judge your social media accounts.

I don’t mean to be judgy, but I am always evaluating every business’ social media presence. Gathering inspo from the ones that are slaying it and thinking up creative ways to improve the ones that maybe need a little help. If you’re in the second camp, I’ve got some ideas for you!!

I’m going to be honest - we may have been a little bit *too* honest with our social media manager confessions. Oops! Read it now because while this feels cute now, I definitely might delete it later.
